Photographer's Note

The last of the triumvirate of photographs from Loggos on Paxi (aka Paxoi, Paxos) in the Ionian. The first upload a couple of days ago showed the yacht we were delivering; the second yesterday showed a view of the village from our mooring in the bay; this one shows the view out into the bay from the taverna on the waterfront where we were gaining sustenance (of the liquid variety), having rowed ashore. Paxos in general and Loggos in particular were a pleasant surprise for me. I hadn't been there for about 40 years, and expected to be disappointed by tourist development. But despite the popularity of the island, it's not been spoiled, or even changed much. There's no airport on the island, which is probably its salvation, and there are no big hotels or tourist complexes. Loggos, for instance, has a few apartments for rent and some four or five tavernas and that's about it. Long may it remain so.
