Photographer's Note

Have you noticed the scarcity of good clear days this year? Last Friday, though threatening rain, we finally went to try some panoramas for a nearby township. One of those days that the clouds could either make our panoramas look like paradise, or could cloud over and blacken the landscape, not to mention drench us.

But the weather held, and it was worth it! Tried a new tripod and got several 360 degree panoramas for the township: these, stiched together, make something like 21 feet by 3.5 feet, and with a bit of Adobe Photoshop, well over a gigabyte each!

Needless to say, I can't post them over here. But I did scrap around some snapshots, and I enjoy this one, looking through "Porta", the "Gate" which tracks the trails of everyone from Alexnder the Great to the armies of WWII, as the only pass through the mountains.

The dog, by the way, is my Terveren, Terry.
