Photographer's Note

I promise I didn't spend hours trying to get these two almost identical cats to lie in front of my neighbour's door and mine, assuming the same posture. My neighbour and I just walked into the scene, while returning home the other day. Luckily we had been out shooting, so I had the camera at hand! I felt this whole image had an Escher quality to it, with all the repeating patterns (doors, cats, tiles), "underlined" perspective and the lonely leaf to balance it all.

I admit it took some post-processing to get this image to look acceptable, the light was poor at that moment and I had to act fast. I added contrast, brightness and intensity, sharpened a little, cropped a lot and added the frame. Actually, I tried cropping to several frames, I am still not sure if this is the one that works best.
