Photographer's Note

The 'must' place that everybody visiting Milos island must visit Kleftiko rocks.

Kleftiko

The complex of these original volcanic rocks, is a magical landscape worthy of admiration, but also a place to enjoy the feeling of clear blue-green waters and sun.

Kleftiko was old pirate lairs, where they passed the pirate ships and moored to the small protected bays and imposing cliffs.

Today, these unique geological formations, creatures of the air and the sea, ideal for swimming and exploring. Access is possible only by sea and therefore we recommend to make a sea excursion to this magical landscape.

Hi Danos,

I like the reflection of the light on the water. The wideness of the area is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details of the boats and of the coastline. The good luminosity is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

One question struck my mind when saw this, Danos: where and why did you hide this one, not posted since 2007...? A striking view of the rocks, the boats scale superbly to appreciate the sizes, and well lit contourlines of the cliff, superbly contrat the blue/green water.
Pleasent to look at this impressive photo.

C'est un endroit parfait pour ancrer son bateau et profiter de la journée. Les vagues sont douces et portent à la sieste. Un beau point de vue avec de beaux rochers en arrière plan.

Δεν έχω πάει ποτέ στη Μήλο αλλά έχω βρεθεί σε παρόμοια μέρη και γνωρίζω ότι, όσο όμορφα και λαμπερά κι αν είναι, η απόδοσή τους σε μια φωτογραφία έχει δυσκολίες. Όλα τα στοιχεία της σύνθεσής σου έχουν αποδοθεί εξαιρετικά, το ίδιο και το φως. Μου αρέσει πολύ η έκταση που έδωσες στη θάλασσα και το παιχνίδισμα των αντανακλάσεων. Συγχαρητήρια και ευχαριστώ!

The rocks look quite dramatic and they are nicely reflected in the water, where I also enjoy the view of the two fine boats. I am surprised this was taken in October. To me this looks like a perfect day in summer.

Such a beautiful, untouched place. I had never heard of it and thank you for sharing your little treasure with us all. The limpid water and light bouncing off it are pure magic. I love the textures of the rockface. A beautifully exposed and composed photo. The seascape reminds me a lot of the Eolian Islands off Sicily.

I visited this lovely spot with the multiple rock arches and sea stacks in 2013. A truly magical place for swimming. Good sharpness and nice reflections in the water. The 2 anchored yachts provide focal points. Tfs.

Those boats owned by rich people take example on pirate ships for mooring at night in the mighty rocky coves of Milos Island, as a reenactment of an era of grave robbering at sea in daytime!
The mood is to recollection of barbarian boardings!
