Kastro-Castle

The village lies two kilometers East of Apollonia. Passing by Kato Petali and after the first turn of the road, in front of you lies a village of rare beauty. Admiring Kastro-Castle,you have a glance in the past, when the pirates acted in Mediterranean Sea. Its architecture had a purpose. Kastro was in the Venetian Season a village-fortress, built in the top and of a small hill with unique purpose its protection from the invasions of pirates. The exterior walls of houses constitute the wall of the castle itself. In this houses lived mainly the lower caste of the island while the aristocracy was fortified to the top of the hill. To entry in Kastro even today the old entrances called "lodgies" are used, that in the past were protected by martial towers. Even today the beauty of Kastro remains intact from time passing by. The new houses and interventions have being made totally respecting the architecture of the area and the natural landscape.

Dobro vece.
Interesantan i dobar tekst, lep pogled ...
Dobar rad i kompozicija, lepo pokazano, dobar kontrast i perspektiva, lepe boje.
Lepo stepeniste i cvece, paznju privlaci plivi sto i drvena stolica.
Lepo mesto i arhitektura.

I love this picture. Composition, colours, sharpness everything is beautiful, but most of all I like the shield with Mini Market. I wonder what they are selling there.

really charming corner in this small village. white and blue - typical Greek. Nice stairs but tiring I suppose. Nice table with the chair to have some rest while climbing. Fine composition.

Hello Danos,
This is a fine composition of a cosy corner of the village. The staircase is lined with beautiful plants and a small terrace where a person can sit in the shade, watching people passing by while enjoying a cup of coffee or maybe a glass of wine. The colours are pleasant and the light is well handled.

The blue and white color scheme reminds me of Mykonos or Oia on Santorini. Good sharpness and the greenery of the plants softens the hard outlines. Tfs!
