Skiathos Town is a vibrant, cosmopolitan place when the sun goes down with enough bars, restaurants and clubs to suit all tastes. You'll find everything here from boozy Brit bars full of rowdy young package holidaymakers to traditional bouzouki bars and classy jazz and blues clubs....
When it comes to eating out you'll find prices are higher here than on many of the less developed Greek islands. The seasonal deluge of tour groups from northern Europe has caused an explosion of not particularly inspiring "pizza and chips" style eateries but there are still opportunities for fine dining and affordable "ouzo and octopus" evenings.

The western section of the waterfront is lined with bars and street cafes which are perfect for early evening people-watching over a sundowner. Most of the best restaurants overlook the western end of the bay and are accessed by some steep steps.

One of the most romantic dining spots in town is provided by the elegant Windmill Restaurant which is well worth the climb up to the peak to the east of Agios Nikolaos Church. Exotic French fare is on offer at this converted mill where you can enjoy spectacular views from the terraces. There are nearly two dozen wines to choose from at this evening only restaurant which has a number of vegetarian options along with a mouthwatering array of innovative meat dishes.

If you prefer to "go native" and save yourself some Euros, follow the locals along to To Psaradika - a cheap and cheerful ouzeri next to the fish market at the far end of the old harbour waterfront.
