carnival Xanthi 2019
Every year, Xanthi organizes the largest carnival in Northern Greece. The various events begin on Wednesday, February 20th and are at their peak with the great parade of floats and people participating, as well as the “burning of Tzaros” on Sunday, March 10th.

Impressive floats and thousands of people will come out the streets of the city on Sunday noon, with colors and music accompanying the King of the Carnival. On the eve of the great feast, the evening carnival parade will take place on the city’s central streets. Over fifty cultural and folklore clubs accompany the carnival program on the city streets, both in closed and open areas. The events that extend throughout the Carnival period include concerts, theatrical performances, music and dancing nights, exhibitions and revival of customs.

The great folklore festival is scheduled on Saturday, February 23rd, while traditional events and happenings will take place in Stavroupoli and the surrounding settlements on Clean Monday.

so who are these guys suppose to be? I read your note, but I don't see the connection of the outfits/costumes....but I suppose it doesn't really matter in the end...its all fun, all innocent fun, nothing wrong with that :)
