After smashing the Byzantine realm 1204 by that fourth crusade.
When the Catalans conquered Athens, they subdivided that duchy into three vegueries: Athens, Thebes, and Livadia.
Livadia came into the rule range of the Duchy Athens after the defeat of the duchy Athens 1311 with the battle of Halmyros (Almyros) those won Catalan company the rule over Livadia. The castle of the city was handed over by the inhabitants of Livadia the victorious Katalanen. The Katalanen kept control of Livadia up to the year 1388.
