Photographer's Note
Happy Easter
** Robert Doisneau was a French photographer. In the 1930s he used a Leica on the streets of Paris; together with Henri Cartier-Bresson he was a pioneer of photojournalism. He is renowned for his 1950 image Le baiser de l'hôtel de ville (Kiss by the Town Hall), a photo of a couple kissing in the busy streets of Paris. Robert Doisneau was appointed a Chevalier (Knight) of the Legion of Honour in 1984 **
“I don't photograph life as it is, but life as I would like it to be.”
"Nowadays people’s visual imagination is so much more sophisticated, so much more developed, particularly in young people, that now you can make an image which just slightly suggests something, they can make of it what they will.
"Life is short. Break the rules. Forgive quickly. Kiss slowly. Love truly. Laugh uncontrollably and never regret anything that made you smile!

About Robert Doisneau
During his long careet, photographer Robert Doisneau documented the French people. His camera sought the surreal in everyday life; the amusing juxtaposition, the faibles of human nature, all captured by an artist who was charmed by his subjects. Robert Doisneau (1912-1994) was born in Gentilly, France. He studied lithography, but soon turned to photography. He worked for Renault as an industrial and advertising photographer until 1939. During the war he worked for the resistance forging documents. In 1948, he began work for French Vogue, but his heart was in photojournalism, and the streets of Paris, to which he returned in 1951. Doisneau has been the subject of major retrospectives at the bibliotheque National in Paris, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the George Eastman House in Rochester, NY. His photographs have become widely recognized and beloved in the history of photography.

Hello dear Georgios
Perfect capture of this nice and calm scenery.
The portrait format was a correct choice; keeping the two rock in the lower part and follow the eye up to the ships.
Nice and balanced ligth management.
Interesting notes !
TFS and a happy Easter to you and your family !
Best regards
MESUT ILGIM
PS. Make a small correction on your title; it should be Happy Easter (and not Easten) !!!

Bonjour Georgios,
J'aime beaucoup la profondeur que les rochers ajoutent à cette belle image. Pourvu que les bateaux restent au loin.
Bon dimanche

Hi Georgios
Feel really fresh with this calm seascape. I like it very much and I find the cool palette very attractive, far less garish and far more realistic for an autumnal month with just the right tones. The freighter vivid red simply pops out attracting the eyes white those rocks provide the necessary focal. Interesting write up as always to go along and Happy late Easter as well. You've captured the feel beautifully. Congrats
Best regards

Hello Georgios,
If this photo had been heavily cropped, showing only the upper third, you would still have got a fine composition with nice colours and a great motif. Now you made something quite different, changed the shape and included the two rocks at the bottom. This also works very well. The rocks balance the composition nicely and you managed to include many more shades of increasingly darker blue. Well done.
Kind regards,
Gert

Beautiful and very calm seascape. Nicely captured and thanks for the information about Robert Doisneau. I'm not familiar with him but I studied a lot of Henri Cartier-Bresson photographs, another French photographer, when I was a photography student. I like the lighting of this post and wonderful colors. Well done, tfs.

Kalispera Georgios,
Never saw such a pic. of a smooth sea surface, and what a wonderful sight. The cargo vessels mirror perfectly upon, and good DOF collected.
Fine shot,

Belle note!!
Super les rochers qui semble flotter sur l'eau, le rendu des couleurs sur l'arrière plus clair de l'eau, les reflets et couleurs qui en ressort magnifiquement, belle réalisation
