Lake Doxa

Lake Doxa (Greek: Λίμνη Δόξα Limni Doxa) is an artificial lake in western Corinthia, Greece. It is situated at an elevation of 900 m, in the municipal unit Feneos, near the village Archaia Feneos. Construction was completed in the late 1990s. It is fed and drained by the small river Doxa (Δόξα), which empties into the plain of Feneos. In the heart of the lake on a small peninsula features a small church of Agios Fanourios. The Saint George Monastery in Feneos was relocated to higher ground, north of the lake. The lake is surrounded by pine forests.

Hello Danos,
Since the artificial lake is there only since the end of the 90s and the church has been there for a long time, they must surely have acted with caution no to flood it.
Now the small church has an exceptional setting.
The densely forested hillsides make a splendid backdrop.

Hello Danos, I think that I have seen this church before but never from this point of view.
Seeing it from across the stretch of water it gives the impression of isolation.
The background of trees adds texture and extra colour.

The pov really does bring out the best of the lake scene on a rather diffuse lighting with the chapel & bright water area grab as effective elements. The lush backdrop counterpoints harmoniously to complete this shot. Simple but I love the tranquility. Congrats.

You found an excellent POV to show this lake and the charming little church located at the peninsula. It looks remarkable that most trees are already standing down in the water. The composition is good and well-balanced.

Hello Danos,
It's a very pretty church and it has been given a splendid location by the artificial lake. Its impact on the surroundings must have improved greatly when the lake was created. It looks so good surrounded by water against the backdrop of the forest on the mountainside.

what a beautiful little chapel having amazing location in the middle of the lake.
Very romantic, very attractive.

I love these little islands or peninsulas in the middle of lakes; I wonder why they liked building chapels in these places : Probably because the Beauty and Peace favoured meditation.
This is just lovely, with the wooded hills overlooking the scene.
