Photographer's Note
Viniani Bridge is made of local stone called "Vinianitiko" and connects the banks of Megdovas River. Along with Manolis Bridge and Tatarna Bridge, they were the only safe passage of the rivers back in the days. Legend has it that there is a haunted beehive on the bridge which does not allow travelers to pass from one side of the river to the other.
Evrytania is a prefecture situated in the west part of Central Greece and it's neighbouring with Aetoloacarnania to the south, Fthiotida to the east and Karditsa to the north. Evrytania is mostly covered with mountains: Timfristos and Panaitoliko. It also has many rivers: Acheloos, Agrafiotis and Megdovas and Kremasta Lake.
The spectacular countryside of Evrytania satisfies all tastes. The prefecture has a unique alpine environment and rich cultural and historic heritage, constituting one of the cleanest ecosystems worldwide, according to UNESCO in 1991: Healthy climate, forest slopes, and countless streams. Evrytania is the most thickly wooded, best-watered area in Greece. There are so many firtrees in Evrytania that you think you are in a magnificent forest.
Karpenisi is the capital of the prefecture. The area around Karpenisi is mountainous. Karpenisi's industry is urban and rural in the outskirts. Karpenisi has a skiing resort, Velouhi, and is ideal for sports like climbing, trekking, offroading, canoeing and kayaking.

Hello, Athanasios!
Beautiful old bridge captured here with very nice perspective and framing! The low light has been very well managed here, and the green vegetation gives more life and colors to the scene! Wonderful job!

Hi Athanasios
I have never seen this bridge before, what a great subject to photograph and to post on TE. Not sure if i'd want to run into a haunted bee hive haha. Its cool how the bridge was constructed with stones from the local area, and we can even see that too. charming and elegant, along with being quite historic. wonderful post. cheers
