Photographer's Note

not long after the boat left Piraeus that morning I took these three pictures (-2,0,+2EV) which were later imported in Photomatix and came back out as one. that single image had to suffer some photoshop treatment before it was made public.

well, not much to say - goes straight in "my favorites" category. love the feeling of liquid gold and clear division of photo into several "zones". the middle-left part above the horizon has a bit of noise, but still this is a fantastic photo.

Hi Kostas,

Very nice result you got there! Especially shooting from a boat moving away. Little differences in the different shots already make the layering complicated, but you got a wonderful result! Wonderful light.
I am wondering about the title. Can you give some explanation on that one? I only know Dr Oetker as a producer of cake mixes, joghurt and stuff like that :-).

I like the hdr treatment Kostas, although I think this type of photo with all its brilliant light and colour needs to be run through a noise reduction program (i don't think grain works here). Like I said before nice colours and capture of the clouds and sun on the water.

Hi Kostas, I've read your note about the title and it made me smile:-) a lot! I was trying to find some esoteric meaning...:-)

It's a fantastic shot, like a dream world with sublime colours and textures, enhanced by the fact that it's taken from a boat which makes it also very dynamic. I know nothing about the method you used, I can only imagine,but congratulations for the result !
