The Church of Agios Mamas
Agios Mamas is one of the oldest churches of Naxos, dating from the 9th century.
The Church of Agios Mamas is famous for its fine cross, sculptures and murals and is dedicated to Agios Mamas, patron of the shepherds.
Because it is so old, it is believed that this church once housed the Orthodox cathedral before the Venetian occupation (1207).
Visitor can found this interesting and beautiful church behind the village of Potamia.

Same information from the 'discovery'of San Mamas.

It is found in the middle of a plain far from the central street roughly 1,5Km. It is appearred from a specific point of street and unfortunately does not exist also a traffic plate to lead you.
In order to find it,I searched 30 min and I asked a lot of people. After ones comes out of the main street, there is an earthly little alley that someone hardly can drive.Somewhere in a point stops and with the legs finally no one can approach the church of Saint Mamas.
