Photographer's Note

The Matyos are a small ethnic group in north-eastern Hungary, living only in three settlement. The folk-costumes of Matyos are so famous in Hungary, and this is due to the fact that it is really elegant and emphasize the beauty of the body. Even int he 18th century the upper class liked to wear them and still it is one of the symbols of the nation, a real hungaricum. The women were wearing tight shirt with lifted shoulderd sleeves, ruffled waist. Their skirts were long and also ruffled. Their pinafore is also long which was fully decorated with embroidery. The headscarf was unique with pom-pom shaped ornaments which lifts the head straight.
I shot this picture on a real Matyo wedding in Szentistvan village.

Interesting photo documentary with the bride wearing the traditional costume and headdress. Good DOF, exposure, colors and choice of vertical framing.

I like traditional clothes, and the woman in your photo has both beautiful clothes, and a lovely face. I like this close-up portrait, allowing us to see many details of the costume. I especially like the head-piece.

Nagyon helyes, lássa a világ, milyen szépek vannak felénk. Remek a szerkesztés, jól érvényesül az arc is, ruha is. (Esetleg a háttérben levő hölgy fordulhatott volna kicsit, de ne legyünk telhetetlenek, kiváló ez így is.) Gratulálok!
