Photographer's Note

Pictured here one of the early prized acquisition of the open air ethnographic museum (Skanzen) of Szentendre. It is the bell tower of a Protestant church transported here in 1971 from Nemesborzova, a small town in northeastern Hungary. It is a scanned picture from one of my slides, not as sharp as it should be, but I think it is good enough to show the beauty of this more than 300 year old wooden structure (built in 1667). They started collecting folk art objects for this location 1967, and the collection become a formally recognized open air museum in 1974.

Since than it has become a major Hungarian tourist attraction, there are several excellent pictures on TE about it, one of them shows this this bell tower on a 2008 photo , with a church building beside it.
