Photographer's Note

Suite of my Iceland trip.
Always in the south, view of Lomagnupur rock, high of 767 meters, who emerges before lagoon. He is very impressing.
In the past, the raod stopped here. for people wanted go for east, it was in horse or coastal traffic.

Salut Alex, an impressive picture of this rock with its head in the clouds. The light is mastered perfectly with the filter. Nice composition with meaningful foreground, background and middle plane, and it is a pleasure for an eye to travel along the shore of the lagoon from the greenery to the rock and back. Very well done!

An excellent shot. The composition is well staged to give us a good focal point of interest. Nice sharpness, good saturation and nice DOF. The clouds add some drama to this scene and emphasize the picture's dynamic nature. The portrait format is ideal here, as it accentuates the depth. Nice work.

Absolutely stunning! The effect of the darker sky than the meadows, lake and fg makes this a quite sepcial composition. Choosing the vertical framing was the right. It focus on the tall mountain in the bg. I wonder what an effect a polarizing fliter would have done here.

Mais, Ah! Oh! C’est, Wow! Je! Keuf, keuf!! Les mots me manquent ou se précipitent les uns par dessus les autres pour exprimer ma fascination en voyant cette magnifique photo!

Il n’y a pas un seul espace qui manque d’intérêt dans cette scène et pourtant, les éléments qui la composent sont minimalistes. Excellente utilisation de la végétation au premier plan, superbe composition avec une parfaite intégration du plan d’eau, impeccable progression vers le rocher, ciel dramatique à couper le souffle et réflection en prime!!

Les couleurs sont vraiment sublimes et la netteté est hallucinante.

Un chef-d’oeuvre! Bravo!

Excellente cette photo d'Islande, ce premier plan tres lumineux contraste super bien avec l'arriere plan sombre pour un resultat plutot spectaculaire, j'utilise assez peu mon P121 mais cette photo me montre que j'ai tort !

Well composed and interesting photo this is. Looks like Sauron's Tower (Barad Dur) in Mordor (it fits the Middle-Earth theme).

Your shot is really powerful! Lovely colours and tones of this beautiful Lomagnupur rock. Superb view with the combination of light and shadow on the lake, plus the dark clouds on rock made the view even more dramatic. The light is just fantastic.

Hi Alexandre, nice image, I like the contrast of the vivid greens in comparison to the dark clouds. The vertical composition was a great choice here because it shows some good foreground as well as background.

Ah, décidement, je suis une fan de tes photos d'Islande. Même sans soleil, tu tires des photos étonnantes par la qualité des compositions et la saturation des couleurs. Les tons sont justes, l'exposition impeccable. Ton point de vue est original et le travail de post-traitement très soigné.

Fantastic shot! I don't know how I missed this, but I really like the layout of this. The depth provided by the foregorund is good, and the dark, brooding pillar of rock with it's head in the clouds is very dramatic. Beautiful!

What a beautiful photo! The light is just superb, just as the fine sharpness, good contrast and the composition. I like the elements you've caught with in the foreground, and the shoreline curving through the photo creates nice depth. You we're probably very lucky with the clouds this day..it seems as if the clouds are engulving this rock in the distance..as if they want to swallow it whole.
Good use of the wide angle (nice lens huh?!)

Compelling photo with excellent light management and beautiful use of your lens and equipment. The swirling gray cloud/fog mass over the top of the rock is stunning and mystical. I think if I had to critique one thing it would be that there are many, perhaps too many, elements in the photo, drawing your eye to multiple spots without allowing you to concentrate on one or two. For example, the lagoon and foreground are beautiful elements in and of themselves. I suppose this is being nitpicky, since the overall shot is just lovely.

Very good, Alexandre. The high rock edges, are they blurred by the clouds overlying it?
I like the way the clouds seem to radiate away from the rock,and cover it in gloom, while the foreground is sunlit and clear.

Delicious picture, if I found it in a travel agency booklet, I'd reconsider the choice of a place where to spend my holidays.
