Photographer's Note
The Cliffs of Moher are simply breathtaking. Tomorrow I shall post a panoramic shot of this region although to be honest I found it impossible to capture this sight. You seriously have to go see. The cliffs drop some 700 feet straight down to the ocean, and extend for some 5 miles.
While there I could not help but notice how seriously dangerous these cliffs could be for a tourist and a quick search on the Internet reveals that several people each year fall to their deaths. If you visit, make sure you hold on to your hat! The wind up there can be unpredictable.

Very well caught. This picture shows, that you do not need full size of natural phenomenon to see how big and impressive it is!

Wow, this is a stunning view, Stephen. The fact that you chose a close-up view as opposed to a wider-angled one actually enhances the breathtaking feel, and the very good contrast and sharpness of your photo support this even more. The play of light on the rock textures is very well rendered, and of course the people add both scale and drama to this sight. Very well done.
This one makes a magnificent addition to my "Vertigo" theme.

Hi Stephen, very, very nice picture of these stunning cliffs. Your POV is really good, and I like it very much that you haven't included any sky. Great sharpness coupled to a great DOF. Your crop is great!

Wow!! What an amazing shot! Just the shear size of the cliffs from your vantage point is incredible. The people give an terrific indication of scale. I also really like the fact that your image shows all of the lovely tones and textures of this wonderful site!
Beautiful job!

waouh ! C'est très impressionnant, vertigineux. quant à la photo, j'aime bien la composition en deux parties verticales une dans l'ombre et la seconde exposée au soleil. C'est très bien rendu. Merci pour le frisson.

That's a staggering view. Makes me feel giddy just lokking at those people on it, and imagining where you must have been to get the shot. I hope state nannism doesn't result int he whole place being fanced off, as, doubtless, it would be in the states.

Thanks for a great shot, side lighting superb for bringing out the texture of the rock. The people on top look very relaxed in contrast to your title; good note!

Briilant Stephen. Gave a chill in spine. Framing and dimensions made it even more kinda scary. Brave shot. Full marks.

One day, and I already told this to other Ireland-photographers (see for example "Leonie"), I have to go there and when I see this, it's an amazing landscape and with these people as fine details, you can "feel" the height, great shot, Stephen !

Fantastic picture. People in the picture lets us guess the ruggedness and the size of the cliff. Very dangerous place Stephen. Looking forward to see your panoramic shot

I just came across this one more than one year since it was posted and found it so impressive that I must post my appreciation of this great scenery full of details. This is a Lord of the Ring scenery. (Jean-Pierre)

Hi Stephen.
This really looks dangerous.
I really get the feeling for the height.
People as scale are very good, so is the vertical format.
Darker background accentuates the cliffs.
Fantastic!

Fantastic shot of the cliffs Stephen! The 3/4 light is excellent, and of course the vertigo effect.

I love this photo: the texture of the rock, the point of view, the sharpness, the almost monochromatic feel, the light, and as already mentioned, the choice of not including the sky. The people lying there makes me feel dizzy but makes this image very effective & impressive.
