Photographer's Note
I found one more shot that I made during the same week while on Procida Island (Gulf of Naples). I took it with my other camera and another type of film, and you can say it's a sequel to The red anchor.
I took this one at another harbour, though, the "Marina di Chiaiolella" (which can be freely translated as: "Little gravel Marina").
I love the simple bright colors and the white of the boats, even more accentuated by the wonderful sunny weather.
Looking at this image I can smell again the hot "ristretto" (an even more concentrated espresso, deadly to the bowels if you're not used to it....) and the salty smell of the fishing nets spread all over the place to dry in the sun.
All this sounds like kind of idyllic, but one must not forget the hard life and dedication of those fishermen.
I cropped slightly the image to isolate better the two bows and the anchor. No other corrections applied. I wanted at first to digitally remove the small length of rope in the middle, but then decided against it. I think it belongs there.
