Photographer's Note
This is the landscape around the small city of Cordenons, a small suburb city of the main city Pordenone, in the central Friuli Region.
It was the end of the sunset.
In that small city (around 17.000 inahbitants) was born my grandmother at the beginnings of the XX century; then she went to live in Milan before the II° World War. For many years when i was child i back there in June after the end of the school to have a break from the pollution and the hot summer weather of Milan.
I went there the last time when i was 13 years old (1982) and i came back just only in the summer 2004, 1 months later that my son was born.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Pordenone (Friulian Pordenon) is a comune of Pordenone province of northeast Italy in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region.
The name comes from the latin "Portus Naonis" meaning the port on the river Noncello (Latin Naon)
[edit]
History
Pordenone was created in the High Middle Ages as a river port on the Noncello, with the name Portus Naonis. In the area, however, there were already villas and agricultural settlements in the Roman age.
In 1378, after having been administrated by several feudataries, the city was handed over to the Habsburg family, forming an Austrian enclave within the territory of Patriarchate of Aquileia. In the 14th century Pordenone grew substantially due to the flourishing river trades, gaining the status of city in 1314.
In 1514 it was acquired by the Republic of Venice, under which a new port was built and the manifactures improved.
After the Napoleonic parenthesis Pordenone was included in the Kingdom of Lombardy-Venetia. The railway connection and the construction of the Pontebbana road implied the decline of the port, but spurred a substantial industrial development (especially for the working of cotton). Pordenone was annexed to Italy in 1866.
The cotton sector, however, decayed after the destructions of World War I and the 1929 crisis, to never recover at all. After World War II the local Zanussi became a world giant of household appliances, and in 1968 Pordenone became capital of the province with the same name, including territory belonging to Udine.

Hi Paolo
It's very simple but stunning. The colours are quite magical. The title fits the scene well. I like how the shadow on the left helps give some depth.

Hi Paolo.
A most interesting setting of colours in this moody sunset. Few details - again used at the best especially with the low placement of the horizon.

There maybe only 4 colours but their union is exquisite. Very well composed- more 1/4's than 3rds but in this instance what was necessary.

Okay, pretty picture, especially the sunset hue resonant in the field, and the very nicely rendered gradient color transitions in the sky. These reasons and the excellent Photographer's Note together rate good.
There are two problems which detract from the image.
1. Framing/composition: there is far too much sky for the amount of landscape in the scene. Plus, the excess sky is all of a blue-violet hue and does not add anything else not already there. The sky should be cropped from the top, probably cut in half. Then, to keep the aspect ratio of the image correct, the both sides should be cropped in from the edges, proportionately. That will also remove some of the overly dark parts at either end of the hedgerow.
2. The hedgerow or line of trees appears unnaturally illuminated, probably from post-processing. Look, the sun, the source of illumination, has already set--behind the trees! The tree line should almost appear in silhouette by this time.
