Photographer's Note

Another picture from my trip to Rome last October. Again the problems amateur photographers will meet in these locations are the numbers of people walking around and the fact that you cannot use a tripod!

This picture was taken at 10:00am in one of the many churches located in Rome outside of the Vatican City. I was tagging along to a tour of the area and kept getting lost as I stayed to take pictures.

This particular image struck me as the light shining through the window was so intense. I captured a number of shots from various locations which moved the position of the light beam around the statue but I think this one captures my feelings the best.

Again low light conditions and no tripod meant I had to use a high ISO setting but I think a lot of the detail has been maintained, especially the marbelling on the wall behind the statue but the grain has dulled the gold area above the alter.
