This is another shot from my trip to the Italian Dolomites.

During the First World War iron ropes (as seen in picture), ladders and bridges were built to help Austrian troop movements when fighting the Italians.

These are now used as climbing aids and are known as Via Ferrata or 'Iron Road'.

You can now find these cables and bridges in many places including: France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain and Slovenia.
