This was taken in the main road of the old part of Piombino, opposite the island of Elba.

Even though most people know Piombino just from taking the ferry to Elba and do not always have the best impression of the citiy, the old city centre is very nice, and on warm summer nights like this one it is quite busy until at least midnight. People simply enjoy being out in the streets, chatting, walking, looking at shops (that are often open).

With the summer in Germany (where I am now) being practically over (there have been about 2 weeks you might call "summer"), I like to remember these warm nights in Italy that I experienced just a few weeks ago...
