Photographer's Note

An evening walk after dinner with my wife at Orta S. Giulio. I'm lucky, I live just 45 minutes from there and sometimes it's good for my mood to have a sweet evening with few people around in a beautiful place.

Historical note: the island of S. Giulio had its first church in IV century AC. The legend tells that S. Giulio went to the island on its mantle and defeated snakes and dragons which were the inhabitants of the island (obviously, as all medieval stories, it's a metaphor. Snakes and dragons mean the pagan temples and spirits which were precedent to the Christianity. In fact, there is evidence of human presence since X century BC.
Among the other occupants of the island, a famous one was Cesare Augusto Tallone, a piano-maker and tuner of the great pianist Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli.
At present time the island is at only 5 minutes from Orta S. Giulio, by boat and you can visit the island and have a nice time there also in the evening.

Very beautiful presentation of this island in a wonderful blue hour picture.
The orange tones of the highlighted buildings and the church tower on the island together with a few orange lights on the mountain slope look fantastic in the almost completely blue world.

direi che è semplicemente perfetta, ottimo il taglio con il soggetto centrato e illuminato, risaltato dal riflesso del cielo sull'acqua, ottima la suddivisione tra cielo, montagne e lago. il colore e la luce sono poi bellissimi.
peccato a sinistra la parte di sponda, ma non disturba, anzi, fa da cornice.

Beautiful blue hour photo. I love the effect of the long exposure on teh water making it soft. Maybe i would choose to crop a bit of the right side to get a cleaner side.
You handeld the light extremly goed.
