Photographer's Note
Bu 100. fotografimmis... Aslinda fotograf konusunda katetmem gereken onumde daha cok uzun bir yol oldugunu biliyorum, keske su kucuk kiz ccocugu kadar da zamanim olsaymis..
Kucuk kiz Castel Sant'Angelo kalesinin balkonlarindan birinden Tiber Nehri uzerindeki eski ismiyle "Pons Aeus", simdiki ismiyle "Ponte Sant'Angelo" koprusunu izliyor.
This is my 100th sharing. I know there is a very long path in front of me to cover regarding photography, I wish I would also have much time as that little girl has.
The little girl is watching the "Ponte Sant'Angelo" bridge over the river Tevere from one of the balconies of the Castel Sant'Angelo.
Intended by the emperor Hadrian as the burial place for himself and his family, it was erected on the site of the ancient Horti Domizia. The bridge in front of it, the present "Sant'Angelo',the ancient Pont Aelius, linked the mauseleum with the center of Rome.Later turned into a fortress, the Mausoleum of Hadrian assumed the name of Castel Sant'Angelo and became a prison in which such famous characters as Giordano Bruno and Cagliostro were incarcerated. It now houses a museumwhich contains various exhibits relating to its construction and history.

Merhaba Cagla Hanim.Your note reminds me of the song, Time is on My Side. A lie for sure as we watch it slip away.Felicitations on your 100th photo. Original POV and quite revealing in terms of position and height of the fort.Best wishes. Klaudio.

Hi Cagla
always nice to see you return to TE every once in awhile.
I chose this photo for one simple main reason....
its very difficult to produce a unique photo in rome, but it seems as if you've done so with this one.
we get the same POV as the person in the shot, and we get a true sense of the height.
and the B&W gives the viewer a sense of nostalgia.
nice shot
cheers
craig
