Winter memories, a photo from Treviso, Veneto

Photographer's Note

Very strange this winter, no snow and no rain. This early morning in Treviso, my city, there were -4° but then came out a beautiful and warm sun. To remind me of a beautiful snowfall I had to revisit my photo archive and found this image of my city after a night of snow. I hope not snowing in spring!

Molto strano questo inverno, senza neve e senza pioggia. Questa mattina presto a Treviso, la mia città, c'erano -4° ma poi è uscito un bellissimo e tiepido sole. Per ricordarmi una bella nevicata ho dovuto rivisitare il mio archivio fotografico, ed ho trovato questa immagine della mia città dopo una notte di neve. Io spero non nevichi in primavera!

the light in this picture is wonderful, it sparkles through the trees and on the snow. lovely composition with the building appearing through the trees. fantastic colours, excellent detail and depth of field.

Hi Paolo,
it seems that in this "winter without snow" many people have nostalgic feelings about snow and try either to find and post or at least to look at photos of snowy scenes! :) At least, I am one of those people..
Snow can be really very beautiful, and especially beautiful in artistic photos.
This photo looks very artistic because it looks like snowy laces, fragile, filled with warm sun light..

I like a snowy landscape as long as the sun is shining on it :) like on this picture.
There's a beautiful light on the snow covered branches of the trees. And the alternation of the snow and the darker trunks and branches makes a pleasant composition.

Allô Paolo!
Tu as bien pigé dans ta boite à photo, faute de neige, on retourne en arrière. La photo avec ces arbres recouvert de neige est magnifique. Même si l'édifice est caché par les arbres, il semble superbe. La rivière rend la photo encore plus intéressante avec de beaux reflets. Ici pas beaucoup de neige cet hiver, nous avons eu la première tempête vendredi dernier, avant c'était comme sur ta photo.

Ciao Paolo, Bea sta foto chiapada a Treviso, xea vesin casa mea?:) A neve a xe bea ma dee volte a rompe anca e scatoe, mejo che sie sol che un ricordo penso. Me despiase sentir che el nostro amico el'Assessor el xe drio morir da freddo, anca se ben che no ghe xe pi neve la da lu, qua invese se more da caldo, son qua con e braghe curte e in canottiera. Ho visto che te si ritorna su TE dopo un per de giorni de riposo, spero che te stae almanco na s-ciànta mejo.

Bene, volendo dare un voto a questa foto, é: 110 con lode e pubblicazione della tesi! Io la trovo semplicemente magnifica, ovvio, perché ho un'indole incredibilmente romantica. Sai? Non sembra Treviso ma uno strano fotogramma del Dottor Zivago. Ti ho detto tutto, adesso, no?

Your nostalgic return to romantic Trevizo, caro Fratello. We have here the same situation these months and we are not sure if it is to be worried or not. It is sure that the snows gives additional dimension to the photo. Your case is evident and in your photo the snow is pure decoration.

At last we have snow in Warsaw! Not much but it is. In some part of Poland it is quite a lot and as usual the road workers have problems. Snow and sun - it is recipy for a beautiful photo. marcelous view of the villa.

This is indeed a wonderful postcard of Treviso.
Winters are sometimes very strange, this is almost the same in Belgium.
Depth and perspective make these picture attractive

very nice shot from winter seasn...like the composition here by the snowy naked trees in front of the BG architectures...the FG canal add a fine touch here...
very nice light management with good DOF controlled...nice chosen POV with good color contrast & sharpness...

splendido questo paesaggio invernale di Treviso, sembra quasi toccare questi fiocchi di neve depositate sugli alberi, bellissima la luce che investe la scena e risalta tutti i particolari, il POV è splendido che lascia intravedere la bellissima costruzione dietro i rami, ricercata e ben congegnata !!!!

Seems everyone is having the same problem:)!Here we rarely have snow and now it's cold but we're having a long period of sunshine. You found a nice one in your archives. I like the mist coming from the water and the beautiful building partially hidden by the white trees. A very nice winter atmosphere!

Why I feel so happy to see your gallery? The answer is , it is filled with gems like this one. Looks like a fairy land where the brilliant sun rays falling on these trees with icicles and making them glow. I like the subtle reflections in the water. The colors are very soft and the atmosphere is very peaceful The image is very sharp and well balanced.

Superb shot of the winter wonderland, Caro Paolo, with the pine resembling a Christmas tree. There is vapor from the water, it is an aspect of Treviso we did not see in our short visit.

i rami di questi alberi innevati sono come una preziosa tenda ricamata che lascia trasparire l'elegante architettura retrostante. Il canale emana i suoi vapori ed i suoi riflessi. Si respira una tranquilla atmosfera da domenica mattina quando tutti dormono ancora e il fotografo, armato della sua fotocamera va a caccia di immagini belle come questa.

Bentornato! Mi manchi lo sai. Questa bella foto ricordami di una fiabba della mia infanzia (quando ero una monellina invece della monellona). Bellissimi is colori e quelli riflessi nel fiume. Il texture degli alberi nudi e la neve e' proprio bello. Una foto stupenda, complimenti.
