This picture was taken in padua, one of the most important cultural centres of north east Italy. It's also the home of the second oldest university in Italy, after Bologna.
In the photo i show a detail of the second largest European square, "Prato della Valle": once a roman theatre, has become the traditional site for fairs and amusements. It is a large elliptical green island, divided by four avenues corresponding to four bridges, surrounded by a canal along which stand 78 statues of famous men. Also there are a lot of Festivals and so concerts,sport etc. It's very impressive to see.
Besides, at hand it's located the majestic church, Basilica di Sant'Antonio, one of the most important religious patrimony of this city, where a lot of pilgrims come here for his miracles. In fact, insides there is the St. Antonio's statue and the people touch his feet to beg him to wishes.
