Chapel of Sant'Anna
Cut off from the rest of the cathedral following the Barberini renovation, the chapel of Sant'Anna is what remains of the old Romanesque transepts, and gives us an idea of how rich the pictorial decoration must have been before the inauspicious intervention wanted by Urban VIII. Built in the fourteenth century as an extension of the transept, it was decorated with frescoes from the end of the sixteenth century, largely removed to bring the fourteenth-century decoration to light.
