Rocca San Zenone - Terni

It is found along the road that crosses all the northern slopes of the Ternana basin at the end of the Val di Serra.
The castle has undergone many transformations over the centuries and always under Terni's rule it represented the guard outpost towards the Terre Arnolfe and the powerful town of Spoleto. It is surprising to see this old watchtower all alone on the top of this mountain. Maybe there are other remains of a castle on the other side. Well framed view of this historic place.

Ciao caro Silvio,

If you want to make a building have immediate impact, place it on top of a rocky promontory with an inferred guide line leading towards it!
This isa fine composition.
There is nothing to take attention from the tower, just details to add to the sense of place!

Very photogenic lone round tower on top of the rocky hill.
It reminds me some ruins in Poland but I have no photos to show it. Lovely blue sky.

Hello Silvio,
Seen from here, the tower appears to have been built in an impossible-to-reach place. Perhaps it's easier to get there from the other side of the hill.
Beautiful nature with the alternation of naked rock and trees.
