Today is the first day of spring and San Benedetto is celebrated.
The fresco I propose comes from the Abbey of Santa Maria di Ronzano - Castel Castagna (TE)

Hi Silvio,

Le cadrage serré met l'oeuvre d'art en évidence. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails de la fresque de Saint-Bénédicte .La lumière met en valeur les couleurs de l'image. Bonne journée.

Hello Silvio,
The painting has seen some damage through the centuries, but it is still in a fairly good shape and the colours remain quite strong and vivid. The photo is well exposed and neatly cropped.

What a well researched link to the first day of spring!

Over the years, this fresco has sustained some damage across the saint's chest but it is not too significant to spoil the fresco. The angels and the cloth they are holding, and the lovely edge decorations are all still very much intact. You have been able to capture them sharply in your photograph.

Quite an interesting painting. I keep staring at the centre in which there seem to be a hole in the wall and a rock inside as if it was the heart of the saint.

A wonderful close-up of this fresco. Its soft red colours are particularly nice and stand out well from the blue parts. Well captured with good clarity.

Hello Silvio, seeing these frescoes is always interesting; and it is probably unlikely that many of us will ever see them for real, so we are grateful that you are able to share them with us.
What a pity that there is the damage in the centre of the painting whereas the remainder of the work is in good repair.
It had never occurred to me that there would be a saint associated with the season.

I clicked to the link below ... I love this Abbey very much - the exterior and interior.
The interior just oozed with frescoes charm and soft pastel colours. It's so peaceful and cool ambience.
Atmospherically divine !!!
Even the fresco is damaged but still very beautiful to look at.
