San Bartolomeo di Tevellaria - Pian di San Martino Todi (PG)
Seat of a parish between the end of the 13th and the beginning of the 14th century, it is bordered by the parish of Santa Maria di Petriolo, with that of Santa Maria del Monte and with the River Tiber.
Among the 19 pievanias of the Todi committee listed in 1290, that of San Bartolomeo is one of the least extensive and with the least number of fires, even if it has one of the most populous villas in the countryside (Pian di San Martino).
It is singular that for it there are no fourteenth-century Cadastre instead received for all the other districts.
From the Liber Focolarium of 1290 the plebate, which counted 71 fires, was made up of six villas:
Pian di San Martino with 28 fires, Poggio Albrico with 12, Cecanibbi with 9, San Giovanni di Tevellaria with 9, Tevellaria with 9, Santa Maria della Cerossa with 4.
In 1399 it had nine churches, including the one of the same name in the priory: San Martino, San Lorenzo in Valle, San Giovanni in Valle, San Giovanni di Tevellaria, San Giovanni de Heremo Canali, Sant'Antonino, Sant'Angelo di Cecanibbi, San Giorgio di Poggio Albrico.

Hi Silvio,

Les arbres cadrent bien l'immeuble. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails de l'église San Bartolomeo di Tevellaria. Le ciel nuageux donne un bon contraste aux couleurs de l'image. Bonne journée.

Hello Silvio,
This low angle works very well with old church seen against the cloudy sky on top of the green hill. I like the contrasts of grey and green and the trees and yellow flowers on the hillside. I also like the "forest" growing on the walls.

Hello Silvio,
A nice view uphill towards the old walls of the building, which are largely overgrown by trees. The lighter parts of the walls still stand out clearly. Also the small trees in the foreground with some young leaves are well included.

Very originally decorated ancient ruins. It feels as if they were literally growing. Nice dark clods make a good background for the architecture.
The spring is coming and I suppose this scene will change completely soon.

Cloudy sky "helped" here as it off-sets the backlight.

It is remarkable how many plants seem to grow on these walls.
In the summer months these ruins will probably look very green.
