Old Mill of Poggio Lavarino

The Old Mill of Poggio Lavarino is located below the town, in the locality of Mola; it used the waters of the Corno stream, a tributary of the Serra. The mill was in use until 1953, now it is in complete ruin, but it retains the ancient millstones for wheat and oil, and the presses for olives.
Next to it is the miller's home.

Hi Silvio,

Le cadrage serré met les ruines en évidence. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails du vieux moulin. La lumière rehausse les couleurs de l'image. Bonne journée.

Hello Silvio,
It's not always easy in your photos to tell the difference between a pre-Roman temple, a medieval church or, in this case, a mill from more recent centuries. But looking closely I find many interesting details revealing the nature of this building. It's a pity that it is in such a terrible state. Some cleaning would be useful.

Ciao Silvio,
This resembles the photos from the war in Ukraine. Everything damaged.
Of course it is quite photogenic with the machinery adding extra nice touch to the damaged building.

The rusty metallic objects resemble giant thumb screws. Not much is left with a lot of obvious damage, but enough remains to get a vague idea what it once looked like. Tfs!

a nice view of this old structure to produce olive oil.my grandfather was a producer and had a similar "machine". nice details, despite the damages the activity is present.

its always interesting to view these ruins, and always fun to try and picture how it looked when it was so nice. Look at those large thick wood beams, they're huge! wonderful subject to explore for us viewers. cheers
