Church of Santa Croce - Castagnola - Giano dell'Umbria (PG)rnrnThe church of S. Croce (or of the Holy Cross) of Castagnola belonged to the ancient district of the plebeian Church of S. Maria di Lucciano, about the year 1450 assumedrnthe title of parish, on 23 August 2002 was changed to the rectorate united to thernparish of S. Francesco d’Assisi of Osteria del Bast ardo.rnThe structure of the sacred place, attributable to the XIII-XIV century, with an "angled" plan, isrnmerged with the castle wall. There are two entrances: the first, raised byrnfour steps, with an epigraphic architrave and upper rose window, is located on the facadernthe main one, the second on the wall facing the Piazzetta della Comunità;rnan elegant mullioned window opens on the western wall.

Le cadrage serré met l'église en évidence. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails de l'église de Santa Croce. La lumière fait ressortir les couleurs. Bonne journée.

This looks like a well built and beautiful church with an impressive tower. Several "non-religious" items on the ground add interesting details. The photo is well processed with an attractively dark sky.

Hello Silvio,
The composition is excellent, good vertical photo with the old church tower just off-centre. The contrast with the other buildings and corners around it is very nice, just as the dark blue sky in the background.

Hello Silvio,
I suspect that the square or courtyard was very small so that the low building on the right was unavoidable.
The cross and the tower rise beautifully in the splendid blue sky.
The photo looks a bit like a blue hour picture and yet I don't think it was taken at that time.
