Church of Santa Croce - Castagnola - Giano dell'Umbria (PG)rnrnThe church of S. Croce (or of the Holy Cross) of Castagnola belonged to the ancient district of the plebeian Church of S. Maria di Lucciano, about the year 1450 assumedrnthe title of parish, on 23 August 2002 was changed to the rectorate united to thernparish of S. Francesco d’Assisi of Osteria del Bast ardo.rnThe structure of the sacred place, attributable to the XIII-XIV century, with an "angled" plan, isrnmerged with the castle wall. There are two entrances: the first, raised byrnfour steps, with an epigraphic architrave and upper rose window, is located on the facadernthe main one, the second on the wall facing the Piazzetta della Comunità;rnan elegant mullioned window opens on the western wall.
