Photographer's Note
Similar to 'The Competition', taken just before it, this one has Santa putting on his gloves was a really poignant one for me, as he was getting ready to go to work and start begging. This type of Santa receives. The 'Calcio' carry bag I think was a Roma Football Club one. Anyone who knows better, please give me feedback. Take note of Santas stare into my camera. "Are you lookin' at me?' similar to De Niro's "Are you talkin' to me' look in Taxi Driver. He then took off, then I took 'The Competition' and then the photographer took off.

Incredible, this almost looks like a scene from a Fellini movie. Those two characters alone would already be attention-drawing (check out Santa's sneakers, and his beard that looks like it has previously been used to do housecleaning), but then to have them stand in front of this piece of architecture with the slightly shabby facade of the "Tea Rooms" ... Marvelous capture, Jim.

Incredible shot! The "competition" alone seems to be coming out of a nineteen century photo and this poor little Santa, he needs a meal ... and a bath. The two together is just unbelievable. I would crop to the left up to the window to th remove the white (half) poster and pipe, it makes this side of the image a little busy.

Interesting composition. Sure has some traditional styling in the build up. Fine charachters.
