In the Delta, a photo from Rovigo, Veneto

Photographer's Note

This is a sunset view over the lagoons of the Po River Delta. The main Italian river ends the run in the Adriatic Sea with a large delta, with dozens of principal river and hundreds of small canals and large lagoons.
The Delta have a surface larger than 780 square Kms and lagoons larger than 160 square Kms.
The southern part is the Parco del Delta del Po, in the Rovigo Province (Veneto) for 120 square Kms and in the Ferrara and Ravenna Provinces (Emilia Romagna) for other 537 square Kms.
It's one of the most important reserve for birds of the UE.

The area is fantastic, empty of people, with few really small villages of fishermen and isolated villas that are called "casoni", typicall of all the lagoons of the North-East Italy.

The only bad thing are the mosquitos.
A real nightmare!!!

I tramonti sono sempre d'effetto, qui però c'è quel qualcosa in più dato dalle nuvolette sparse che lo rende ancora più affascinante.. bel lavoro.

J'aime ces nuages qui ressemblent à des jets de fumées projetés par une locomotive à vapeur. Le disque d'or qui descend tout doucement avec grâce dans la mer jette sa poudre d'or sur l'horizon.

Mosquitos seem to be the downside of all the most beautiful water places in Summer. Even in Scotland around the lochs, the UK version, midges, plague all those people who venture there.
You have some fantastic sunsets in your collection. On this one I like the still-blue sky with the fire tinted clouds. The light reflected on the water adds more beauty.

It was worth affronting the mosquitoes to get this picture of a beautiful sunset. I especially like the colours with the deep blue sky and the fire-like clouds at the bottom. A very peaceful place indeed!
