A world in black & white, a photo from Bolzano, Trentino Alto Adige

Photographer's Note

It isn't a b/w picture, it's a color view under a grey sky and a slightly snow of the plateau of Passo Monte Croce di Comelico, on the border between the Veneto and Alto Adige Regions.
The plateau is long not more than 2 kms and large not more than 200, 300 meters, at more than 1660 meters.
There aren't villages, but only one hotel (the one where we spent our week) and many barnes, the typical ones of the Alta Val Pusteria and the Cadore district.

The image was took looking up to the closest mounts Popera and Cima Undici, both over 3000 meters.

On the backs of that mounts there are the Tre Cime di Lavaredo and other wonderful dolomites, as the Croda Rossa, Cima Dodici, Tre Scaprieri...

A beautiful compo, and when it snows the white color becomes predominant and hides all other colours which gives the reflection of B&W.I appreciate your management of dark moods in the compo.

I like the simplicity and the atmosphere. The feeling must bue unique up there in the mountain. Have you tried a vertical framing or crop? I thing this will increase the impact of the mountains.

D'altronde se il tempo e i colori sono questi...
Una foto che rende bene la sensazione di freddo e di tempo cupo e brutto, avrei spostato dal centro la capanna principale ma la dominante qui è il brutto tempo, complimenti.

Olá Paolo, good choice for the note, a bit funny and interesting choice of keeping this in colors and not b&w. Love your composition and the grey atmosphere that you captured. If I'm skiing this is not so nice, but I love it here. Beautiful ghost scenery of the mountains, trees and barn(s).

Your way adding beautiful hut at front of great background is wonderful. I like snowy ground and leaden sky that gives B&W effect with snowy trees and mountains. Hazy mountain hills are increasing mystic ambiance of your photo. Bellissimo. Congratulations.

I like the way the shed repeats the misty mountains. Light color and detail are all excellent; especially the light through the clouds which is perfection. I wonder how it might look if the hut were a little more off-center. SAG, Pat
