View of Church of Saint John the Theologian at Kaneo on the cliff. Saint John the Theologian, Kaneo or simply Saint John at Kaneo is a Macedonian Orthodox church situated on the cliff over Kaneo Beach overlooking Lake Ohrid in the city of Ohrid, Republic of Macedonia. The church is dedicated to John of Patmos, the writer of Revelation, who has been by some considered to be the same person as John the Apostle. The construction date of the church remains unknown but documents detailing the church property suggest that it was built before the year 1447. Archaeologists believe that the church was constructed some time before the rise of the Ottoman Empire very likely in the 13th century. Restoration work in 1964 led to the discovery of frescoes in its dome (from Wikipedia)

Thanks for posting this as I never got around to walking down to the lake shore just below St John's Church. Good sharpness, color and saturation and the restaurant looks like a nice spot to have a coffee or meal. Tfs!

What a gorgeous view of an amazing place. The shoreline of the lake is beautiful and the church sitting on top of the cliffs is so charming. You had a lovely light and the clouds made for a really fine backdrop.

Cześc Piotrze, Uroczy widok na maleńka cerkiewkę na cypelku nad jeziorem Ohrid. Śliczn kompozycja i kolory.

Hello Piotr,
I guess this is the foremost landmark building in all of Macedonia, and no wonder. The building as such and its location are outstanding. I like this angle which includes the boats below, and on this occasion the clouds provided you with a perfect background. It's a very good composition with wonderful colours and light management.

Hello Piotr,

You have found an excellent viewpoint where you were able to photograph the church but also, reveal clearly where it was situated, close to the sea, amongst the trees and with a small harbour nearby.
Together, these features make a most delightful composition.
I do like how the church is backed by the patch of clouds; it makes it really stand out, as if it has a halo.

Well allocated the picture space from sea to the cliff with the monastery on top.
Many objects with interest, from the boats and people to green cypress trees standing erect on the edge of the rocks.
