Photographer's Note

In Ohrid we stayed in a hotel in Sveti Stephan, about four kilometers from the center in Ohrid. So I made a nice walk along the lake. In the last part was a wide promenade. leading to the city center. There is a wide street there, aligned with the shops and restaurants. In the night, with the lights, the view was charming. More romantic view in Workshop.

The sun was also setting just as I first arrived in Ohrid. And the view was similar. Good sharpness, colour and perspective. Nice reflections at left too. Tfs!

Ciao Malgo,not easy to find a couple just married in the late evening,you were lucky! And i like a lot the evening atmopshere of this promenade too,now peaceful but i think very busy in July and August,perfect details and exposure for two lovely compositions. Have a nice Sunday and thanks,Luciano

A fine shot from this promenade. Lovely sunset photo where the colours of the sky is nicely reflected in the calm water. I find the mood here quite romantic, but of course the view in the WS is even more romantic:) Well exposed photo - a fine night shot:) TFS.

Hello Malgo,
I remember this view very well. I stayed in a hotel a few hundred meters behind this, so this was my way to the old town. Both photos are wonderfully exposed. You captured the romantic atmosphere well, and even though this may be the better general view of the wide promenade, the WS is perhaps even more appealing with the stronger human touch of the newly married couple and the activity surrounding them.

J'adore les photos de nuit. Elles révèlent un monde différent.
Et celle-ci, prise à l'heure bleue, est une réussite. Avec ces très jolis reflets sur l'eau, nous sommes invités à une promenade nocturne.

Taken during blue hour, but with a nice result.
The lighting about the city make your picture attractive.

Hello Malgo,

It was a tough decision as to which photograph to have as your main post!
This has a lovely composition, with the tiled f/g making a positive lead to the warmth of the lights and the reflections in the sea, but the inclusion of the bride and groom adds a very romantic human touch.
I have to go with your instinct!

A gorgeous night photo of the town around the lake. I love the pastel colours of the water and the sunset sky and the warm glow of the lamps adds a wonderful contrast. The composition is very well-balanced too.

Hello Malgo,
Seeing this man on the promenade, I remember that Ohrid in summertime was a holiday destination for older Macedonians and Serbs.
On this promenade I've also made a few evening strolls. The view of the old city is simply beautiful and I think that such pictures convince travelers to visit the town.
When you were in Albania, were you on the other side of this lake?

Jesli tylko mozna sie kapac to wszystko jedno ze to nie morze... Moze uda mi sie namowic rodzine :)
Piekna promenada. Bardzo romantyczny moment -z para czy bez pary mlodej :)
Kolory nieba mieniace sie w wodzie robia ogromne wrazenie.

Czyli co: dopiero narzekalas ze trudno Ci zaliczac nowe kraje a to bylo jeszcze przed Macedonia a juz w planie kolejny nowy kraj i jestem pewien ze nie ostatni w tym roku :)
A jak Ci sie dogadywalo z Macedonczykami?
