‘Skopje - Blue hour time or time to go online?’

For the man next to the entrance it was time to go online on his smartphone.
Absolutely no time for me to go online as the blue hour is quite limited in time.

In the photo you see the building of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia on Boulevard Ilinden in Skopje which houses the Office of the Prime Minister, the head of government.

Hello Paul,
Both WS photos are also very well composed and #1 shows an abundance of bright flags and rather dramatic clouds. The main photo has the obvious advantage of human participation, although I had to look carefully to find the man with his smartphone. In all three photos there is an almost eerie emptiness, that somehow seems to confirm that the rather kitschy official centre of Skopje was built for patriotic purposes, not for people. I know Skopje had to start from virtually scratch after the earthquake in 1963, but rebuilding a pleasant, liveable city was never on the leaders' mind, it seems. But among the ex-Yugoslav capitals Podgorica is even worse...

Les lampadaires aident à cadrer la scène. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails de l'édifice du parlement de Macédoine. La lumière de l'heure bleue a un effet spécial sur les couleurs de l'image. Bonne soirée.

Hi Paul,
Spectacular blue hour photo! Most people even other photographers don't get the blue hour at all.
Now when I take photos at the blue hour and try to take photos at several points of view I am literally running with my tripod. People are looking at me strangely, why is he running? The worst is when someone starts a conversation. Even recently in London, I was there already slightly too late and my wife started to talk to me about something: and I... why are you talking to me now! I have maximum 20 minutes left I can talk for the rest of the night but not now!
Here nobody talked to you at least...
Perfect symmetry, we see one lamp is burned.

De straat lichten zorgen een symmetrie op het einde van de trap.
De verlichting van het gebouw, help u even om alles zo heerlijk klaar weer te geven, want soms kan dit even tegenvallen.

Bio sam vise puta u Skopju pre i posle zmeljotresa, ziveo sam u Kumanovu.
Lep pogled i trenutak, dobar tekst ...
Lepa arhitektura i detalji na fasadi, dobro pokazano sa lepim bojama, kontrastom i uhvacenim trenutkom sa oblacima koji dolaze i najvaljuju promenu vremena.
Dobar rad, lepa fotografija.
Lepo stepeniste i upaljeni fenjeri.

there are a few Blue Hour lovers here on TE, myself and Marieusz for sure. can you remember how long of an exposure this was, i'm guessing it was very quick, and hand held right? no tripod or anything like that. I think i'm the only crazy person who carries around a tripod these days. love the lighting and color contrasts, and the POV. cheers

Hello Paul, So now you came to Skopje. Beautiful view of this white building in the blue hour. and strange that I haven't seen it. I was rather interested in the old town. These new parts were to me too monumental and a bit kitschy, especially the monuments. I am very curious about what you will show.

Both this composition and the other two frames that you accompany in the WS are splendid and give us a good vision of this great building with that classicist touch, the cloudy sky at blue hour is a great complement, along with the night lighting.

Great shot. The blue hour sky is beautiful, and the architecture and old-fashioned lamps are pretty, too. This spot is so empty! It looks like you and the man near the entrance are the only people around. I like all the subtle illumination and symmetry in this view, too.

marvelous samples of the building at blue hour. you got a special touch of the beauty with the indirect blue reflected by the white surfaces.
yesterday at sunset our sky became illuminated in yellow because the ashes of Tonga Island volcano.
