Photographer's Note
This work is called “Le Jardin d’Email” and is a creation by Jean Dubuffet.
Jardin d’émail (1974) is much-loved by the public; hundreds of thousands of people have visited the work in recent decades. Because of this, and due to weathering, the work has suffered greatly. After more than forty years, it is in need of a durable conservation, so that future generations can enjoy it to the full again.
When we had a “Mini Meeting” with Christine, Will, Len and Beverley, last year October, we visited the Kröller-Müller Museum and its Sculpture Garden. At that time this stunning object was covered with a large tent and therefore it wasn’t visible to the public because of conservation works.
About the Artist, Jean Dubuffet:
Born in 1901 in the Haute-Normandie region of France to a wine merchant, Dubuffet moved to Paris in 1918 to study at the Académie Julian. He dropped out after six months to study independently. By 1924, he abandoned art to work for his father’s business, returning briefly in the 1930s only to stop again and then finally devote himself to art in 1942.
Dubuffet utilized different materials and surfaces to depict commonplace subjects, such as people riding the Paris subway and a girl milking a cow.(Text from WEB)

Good Morning Viviane,
How good, you are my neighbour, today.
This is like finding the solution to a long held mystery!
We were so curious to know what was happening in the huge tent and here is the answer!
This is like huge contour map which can be explored rather than just viewed!
You did well to include the figures, who immediately scale the art work as well as confirming that it can be explored.
The well placed vertical, which it seems can be entered, is strongly positioned in the frame and takes on special significance as occupying the attention of both figures.
Have a lovely day.
Bev :-)

Hello Viviane,
This was my favourite piece of the sculpture garden at Kröller-Müller, in fact maybe of the entire museum. I was here in 2016 and I am very happy that the restoration work hadn't started then. I was also very pleased to find a young mother dressed in pink and her small daughter walking through the "garden". That was the only photo I posted from my visit here. You used the contrast between the bright enamel and the dark forest very nicely and managed to include a couple of persons. But my persons wore nicer colours. ;-)
Best regards,
Gert

Salut Viviane,
Une intéressante création artistique, bien cadré avec les présences humaines, joli graphisme, un lieu qui pourrait être également présenté en version n&b pour renforcer le contraste des deux teintes.
