Photographer's Note
ARTZUID
“ARTZUID is the leading Sculpture Biennale of the Netherlands. Every two years, 50 high-profile sculptures are exhibited for four months on the green lanes of Amsterdam Zuid. Our mission is to create a new meeting place on the street with a museum-quality selection of sculptures and to make art accessible to everyone free of charge.” (webside ARTZUID)
In June I posted a photo ("Your Dog") of my visit to the 2019 exhibition of ARTZUID with the announcement of the 2021 exhibition. I have also shown you in early days several photos of previous ARTZUID Biennales.
Today I start with a number of photos of the 2021 edition.
In the first picture I connect with my post from the day before yesterday.
In this photo the photographer is placed UPSIDE DOWN several times by the sculpture "SHINE" of Ronald A. Westerhuis.
I have shown you works by this shiny artist before.
I want to post the second and third photo especially for Gert. Also here two artists that I have already shown at TE and of which I know that Gert has seen sculptures by these sculptors.
The artist of the work in the second photo will immediately be recognize by several of you by his recognisable style: Jaume-Plensa. Everywhere in the world (including Stockholm) you can see his work and almost always you immediately will recognize his style.
The artwork "La Forêt Noire" consists of three sculptures in which three bronze heads modelled if they were carved from a wooden trunk in the recognisable Plensa style. .
The third photo shows the sculpture "Summer Moon" by Ugo Rondinone.
Gert and I visited independent of each other his exhibition with all kinds of clown figures in Rotterdam a few years ago.
His work is much more varied and therefore less recognizable at first glance.

Hello Rob,
You leave me in no doubt that at least parts of the Netherlands are upside down these days.
You probably dressed in red especially for this photo, and we see you three times! This art work has a tremendous effect.
Thank you for dedicating both WS to me. As you say, Plensa is always recognizable, but I would never have thought that the creator of the bright clowns of Rotterdam could have made the twisted white stumps of trees in the third photo. That was a total change of style.
Kind regards, and stay safe.

Hello Rob,
You might had inverted this picture up-side-down to have a nice effect of this photo location and reflection of the surrounding area. A selfie of the photographer...
Prepeared a WS like this, but will post only if you will allow me.
By the way, WS#2 worth a post by its own, IMHO.
Good afternoon,
Ike

Groetjes
Benny

Hi Rob,
The three artworks are impressive. The point of view is showing the details of the sculpture with the photographer upside down. The light is bringing out the colors. Have a nice day.

Hallo Rob,
Goed foto werk, bedankt.
Nog een prettige dag verder.

Hallo Rob,

Hi Rob,I see you fell in love with inverted reflections, and here we have a second beautiful example, this time with different reflections in the same photo from this work of Westerhuis. An interesting return once again during the new Dutch lockdown, even with the 2 ws, the black forest is a brilliant title for that elongated face, while the white tree reminds me of the Christmas decorations of a few years ago in my country..hahah .. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Dag Rob,
Groet, Gerrit

Hello Rob, an exhibition like this would be 'just up my street', I would be there with my camera ready for some serious photography!
You have presented us with three completely different works, and all very interesting.
'La Foret Noire' is the most recognisable in style for me. Remarkable treatment of the wood, as it looks very metallic indeed, and I probably wouldn't have recognised that it was wood if you hadn't told us.
Thanks for sharing.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hallo Rob,
https://www.trekearth.com/gallery/North_America/United_States/photo1294851.htm
https://www.trekearth.com/viewphotos.php?l=7&p=1598157
Vele groeten, Paul

Hi Rob
I'm sure it must take time to achieve something meaningful with these spherical distortions - I can see you are having fun with tis, I reckon you've done just that with this shot. Well done
Best regards

Hi Rob,
interesting collection of photos. Each art installation is so different. I do like the mirrors but also the tree is so interesting. People are quite creative.
This one with mirrors reminds me a mirros which some cars have with two versions to allow for a different perspective.
Thanks for sharing,
M
