Photographer's Note
This is the follow up of my picture GALE FORCE 8
We where in a shoot for a scientific television program (HOE?ZO!) there was a item aboat the beaufort scale. Because the program is a kind of quiz with famous Dutch people there was a question to make. We came up the next question:
How many wind on the scale of beaufort a Chinook helicopter makes?
a. 4 beaufort
b. 6 beaufort
c. 8 beaufort
To illustrated this question we must make a movie about it. So we went to the airforce base Soesterberg and put our presentator on the back of a flying Chinook with a windspeed meter. You can see this in my picture Hold on
PS: Cropping, a bit sharpness and B&W
O, and the answer was C. 8 beaufort.

I really like this series of yours Robbert. The photos are very interesting. The black and white works well here. The wide angle, the composition and the movement in the blades are very nice. Well done!

robberts , I like this chinook shot!
Capturing the rotors with a high shutter speed is great, its much more impressive this way especially with it about to lift off
good shot!
PS i found the website of your show

Niet tegenstaande ik geen echte voorstander ben van Z/W moet ik toegeven Robbert dat, dit zeer mooi gedaan is, de bewegingen van de rotor bladen zijn prachtig. Mooi werk

Great sharpness & interesting photo documentary. The blur in the rotor blade is also nice.

Let's shot: 4 beaufort?
This shot is great Robbert! Gale force 8 is my favourite, and I like this one as well...
Great perspective here and superb b&w tones.
Well done!

thats what I'm talking about WOW great shot I like the angle of this Chinook, I think the angle the camera man is getting would probably be a good shot as well. Great work.

Wonderful action shot, Robbert! The B&W choice works perfectly here to increase the feeling of fast moving. The men absorbed deep in their work increase the emanated suspense. Great one!

Fantastische foto Robbert. Hulde! De mensen op de voorgrond in rare houdingen en met hun equipement maken het feest compleet en de keuze voor Z/W is geweldig! Ik vind zelfs het frame iets toevoegen (hoewel ik een notoire frame-hater ben:). Super!!

You have such an interesting job, Robbert, so many adventures and so many great photos. This is so powerful shot - the chinook is so imprssive - a flying monster an dthe crew looks like they are fughting against this giant. Wonderful shot.

It's another splendid piece of photo reporting in b&w, Robbert. All the elements are there again to make this an exciting one: the motion blur, the shooting angle, the inclusion of people. Great sharpness and contrast you get once again; cool stuff.

first thought -as everybody I suspect- it was a Dave Pastoriza shot...
Very nice composition, with the furry head of the mike packed in the corner between the chopper blades. This might be pure luck, as you can't control the exact position of th eblades due to speed...but hell, I've noticed only skilled photographers have luck...

Very nicely captured chopper. The black and white gives more journalistic effect to your perspective.
