Photographer's Note
To complete my series of the Chinook helicopter i repost my first shot of the machine. I only make the picture Black and White. Thanks for the tip!
This is the follow up of my picture GALE FORCE 8 and
Hurry on he is gonna fly and Hold on
This picture was taken when the chinook test his so called 'bambie bucket.' With this device the can attack fires. One bucket can is good for 10.000 liter of water.
There is a little movement in the rotors. Mabey i must do a longer shuttertime? But the sky is the most important detail of the picture. I want the combination of the magnificant sky and the chopper. I put my camera vertical and on auto. I had only one chance because the chopper did only one run. It was a little bit scary. One hour later we had liters of rain. It was a very fasinated to see. I hope you like it.

Great dramatism in B&W with this cloudy sky.
It's impressive to see the blades so distinctly.
Well done, I really like this one, Robbert.

I've seen the color just now and I think that the choice for a B&W version was perfect. This shot is much much better than the original. The clouds really look more dramatic now and the position of the helicopter is perfect in the frame. Excellent work, really well done!

great timing here, I like the way you have caught this, with the load dragging behind, very very nice shot here, the clouds too make the shot, it looks like an emergency, well done

I tried to photograph some Erickson Aircrane Helicopters, but was nowhere near as succussful. Thank for the inspiration. My brother, who is trying to go to flight school will appreciate the dramatic photos here.

Wow, in b&w it looks wonderfully dramatic, Robbert. Great capture of the silhouettes against this one-of-a-kind sky. Really impressive.

This is more dramatic than your previous shot. You almost got the black outline of the Chinook silhouetted against the white sky.

It is a shame that the helecopter is so static but that does not stop this being a fantastic image.

i like the contrast of the helicopter against the clouds, and, very nice clouds! i think the white in the frame is a little to harsh for the picture. maybe grey would be nice.
