Photographer's Note

Another image from our stay last week in the Friesland. The area Kale Duinen, (Bare Dunes) is a so called piece of bare, drifting sand. No sea to be seen, yet dunes. The drifting sands were created by overgrazing of the poor soil where wind and weather have always had free rein, hence the name. Luckily they are not so bare now with vegetation growing back.
