A break from Myanmar today, but I will be back with more:)rnLast week we had some beautiful spring weather here and hubby and I decided to cycle from our home to the beach for a picnic lunch. The nearest beach is 25 kms away but on e-bikes a 60kms round trip is fine. On the way we passed through this village, 't Woudt said to be one of, if not the smallest village in The Netherlands. Surrounded by nature it has a number of beautifully restored farmhouses and a well placed bench to stop for a cup of tea.

Hello Elaine,
Very nice combination of well placed trees and church. It's a well balanced photo of sky, field and water. The light was very good and the colours turned out perfectly. It's a very attractive postcard.
Thank you for your critique a short while ago. I was in Hué and Hoi An in 1993 and 1995. The changes in less than two years were so overwhelming that the present "tourist crap" doesn't surprise me at all.

Goedenavond Elaine,

Ik heb nog nooit van dit dorp gehoord, maar het lijkt me zeer picturesque.
In ieder geval de kerk trekt voldoende de aandacht, om te genieten op de bank, en uw tea de drinken.
Heel mooi panorama beeld ook met de tronken in de voorgrond.

Hello Elaine,

The fg canal provides a partial frame and the 2 trees also frame the bg rural village, possibly the smallest in Holland. Good sharpness and punchy light contrasts. Tfs!

Hallo Elaine,
't Woudt maakt op deze foto niet meteen zijn naam waar :)
Toch is het een prachtige foto waarbij de wilgen het zicht op de kerk en de huizen mooi inkaderen. Een kleine waterloop siert de voorgrond.
Goede diepte, scherpte en helderheid.
Deze foto doet me wat denken aan de streek in Vlaanderen waar John (Jhm) vaak foto's van toont.

Hello Elaine,

How good that you can get out on your bikes and feel the emergence of spring! We are still only able to travel locally, for necessary items.

This is a beautiful, little village, with its tidy houses and small church. I like how you have included the canal/river, in your f/g, as a complementary texture and used the trees to frame the church; they are good compositional methods.
The predominance of blues and greens makes it all feel very natural.

Picturesque as seen here that epitomises Dutch country village and smells of Spring with foreground trees and natural colors makes an excellent photography. That doesn't change much over the years I think. A very pleasant capture
