Orvelte II, a photo from Drenthe, North

Photographer's Note

We stay in Orvelte, the 'museum' village in Drenthe. Although awarded the status of museum village, people live and work here. A couple of the buildings and farms are open to the public but mostly they are well preserved private homes. Here a detail of one of the working farms, showing not only the old tools but the distinct thatching that the area is known for and that we saw on yesterdays upload.

Hello Elaine,
The "rule of thirds" is not a bad idea, which this composition shows. Roof, wall, ground all show us fine textures and soft colours. The wall is like a museum piece with several beautiful details.

Hello Elaine, enlarged this shot shows all the lovely details of the tools, the wooden walls and the thatched roof.
I like the 'face on' pov. There are interesting patterns too.

Hello Elaine,

We zien inderdaad enkele oude landbouw werktuigen tegen de hout gevel hangen.
Nederlander hebben mij in 1959, leren rietendaken leggen.
Echt een vak apart, maar met riet uit de Veluwe.
Mooi dat u deze oude schuur in beeld brengt het roep bij mij heel veel op.

A good front on view adhering to the rule of thirds. Effective tight framing and the minimalist colour accentuates the tonal and textural details. Tfs!
