Photographer's Note

Streetart is booming in urban cities and Rotterdam is no exception. The now trendy Witte de Withstraat doesn’t just offer a large amount of bars and cafes, and also home to many innovative galleries and the Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art, but also has more street art per square meter than you’ll soon find anywhere else.
Its side streets contain work by renowned Iranian brothers ICY & SOT, and very personal work by Rotterdam’s own Tymon de Laat.
Can you find the cat here?

Hello Elaine,
I see the cat which looks like it's standing at a hole in the wall. It's a smart and cleverly made painting and the bike makes the brick wall look less empty and boring. I also like the inclusion of the man. Possibly you could have taken the photo half a second later when he had stepped away from the painted face. But maybe he would then have hidden the cat. It wasn't easy.

Ja, de kat is gevonden naast de afvoerpijp beneden.
De schilderij en fiets maken uw foto compleet.
De man wandelt zonder enige aandacht naar omgeving, en met mondkapje aan.
Mooi gelijksleven beeld vastgelegd. Bedankt.

Yes, I found the cat. But I found it difficult to decide whether it's painted or real! Good trick by presenting the mural together with the bike and the walking man, thus merging both worlds.
The face mask is a signum temporis.

I found the cat to the left of the drainpipe after a second or 2. The man, bike and wall painting add excellent focal points. Tfs!

Hello Elaine,

Well, yes, I can see the cat, seeming to emerge from a hole in the wall but I did not notice it until I had carefully scrutinised the trio of well placed features: the pedestrian, the street art and the bicycle.
The street art, from a talented artist, seems to create a 'watcher', to see if pedestrians are wearing masks, whilst the bike offers a good means of escape!!!

Hallo Elaine,
Het lijkt alsof de kat op de muur geschilderd werd.
De voorbijganger is diep in gedachten verzonken en merkt noch de muurtekening noch de fotograaf op.
Mooie straatscène.
