Same, same but different.
An old photo shows a couple walking along the Coolsingel in 1926 appears to be a world apart from the young men striding along the Coolsingel almost 100 years later.

Goedenavond Elaine,

De tekst onder de oude foto is zeer interessant.
Dat beiden zijn omgekomen in 1943 bij een bombardement op hun pensioen leeftijd.
De oude foto daar echt ik veel waarde aan, maar ik doe niets af aan uw nieuwe foto met twee vlotte jonge mannen.
Een uniek beeld goed dat u beiden in zwart-wit liet verschijnen, bedankt.

Hallo Elaine,
De fotografe moet nog zeer jong geweest zijn toen ze deze foto van haar grootouders nam. De herinnering aan dat moment is haar heel haar leven bijgebleven.
Je hebt de gelegenheid goed waargenomen om een passend hedendaags tafereel te fotograferen dat zich net naast het paneel afspeelt.

Hello Elaine,

You composed this perfectly, making a strong comparison between the couples, centuries apart!
I imagine that you waited to get a couple in shot and have achieved a pin sharp photograph.
B&w was the perfect choice for such a shot.
This reminds me very much of the street photography of Clodo, who sadly has left the site.

De verschillen tussen nu en honderd jaar geleden kunnen niet beter worden getoond. Rotterdam is uiteraard een stad die om een trieste reden nog meer dan normaal er anders uit is gaan zien in de afgelopen eeuw. Goede timing met het tweetal dat net langsliep.

Well spotted, well taken. I hope you didn't have to wait to long for a couple to pass by. Lovely contrast in styles. Bl/w conversion is a good move here too.
