Photographer's Note
This is an image of 2 girls in Norwegian national costumes. They are on theyr way to pick up the person who is going to her confirmation. Every year in may you start to see people in theyr "Bunad" or national costumes.
The cart has bouth Norwegian and Danish flags, this is becaus of the person whos confirmation they are going to has bouth Norwegian and Danish relatives.

Javel e du løyen?
Hallaisen Halgeir.
Photo seems very good, although the angle of the sun could have been better. We are not seeing Bunadene clearly.
Composition looks good, but the farm in the background steals a little attention, but nothing serious.
Maybe a little much sky in frame, but I'm not sure removing it would do any good.
Fjordingen (the horse) is beautifully in focus, having it at this location makes it stand out from the fields in the background.
Thanks for sharing.

Hi Halgeir,
A funny capture, typical for the month of May! Well, maybe with an exception for that carriage...
Pleasant story you're telling here, and I'm happy to see the weather is gorgeous! Nicely composed, with fine natural colours...

Hi Halgeir, Thanks for the photo and the notes to explain the tradition of the culture. A nice tight framed picture. It would be nicer if they are looking at your direction.

Hi Halgeir,
This is a pleasantly composed shot - the 'square on' profile is a little like similar images from the early days of photography. While I do like it, maybe there are oher ways of taking a photo of this subject that create a different feel or some sort of dynamic effect. This could be achieved by taking a photo that's not quite so much of a close-up and maybe from a different angle or with the subject off centre.
Keep trying, my friend.
By the way, your note is excellent! :-)
Best wishes,
Tony

Very interesting photo and note explaining this tradition. I like the tight crop of the horse and cart. A narrower DOF might have isolated them from the background more and avoided the distraction Odd Jarle talks about.
Nevertheless a fine image fitting the TE objectives superbly.

Var det du som gjekk forran og lokka hesten med gulerot?
Nice scene from a well known tradition 1/2geir!
Like the angel but a little you should have waited for the sun to get there too:)
Agree with Odd on regarding the farm.

Hi Halgeir!!
Parece cena de filme, o modelo da carruagem, o robusto cavalo de tração, realmente muito interessante.

Hallo Halgeir!
This is a nice interesting photo! Thank you for creating the group theme " National costumes of the world. " I love these traditions and particularly the fact that in Norway, the costumes are still worn on special, real occasions.
In Brittany, where I come from, we have also kept our beautiful taditional costumes, which are so numerous ( nearly a different one for every 2 or 3 villages! ), but they are mainly worn for folk festivals.
I like the POV of your picture with the beautiful horse and full cart, the tradition of the flags, and the girls looking at the typical Norwegian landscape, with the barn and the lake in the background!
I just thought it a pity the girls looked a little dark , and one couldn't ditinguish the details of their costumes; so I have added a WS. I hope you like it.
Best wishes!Marie Louise.
PS. I have added quite a few photos to your theme: from Brittany, my home region, and from other parts of the world, photos that I had critiqued, as I had come across them. I hope you enjoy them!
