"Ogna batteriet" the German battery no. 18 (artillery regiment 978) along the southern norwegian coastline. Here the facilities with 4pc 8,8 cm guns where finish in 1943. The guns was original russian 8,5cm, and was captured by the Germans and moved here, they were redrilled to 8,8cm before installation.

The guns had a range og 15km and was controlled by electrical cable to the commandbunker, so that all guns aimed at the same target. We believe the battery could fire up to 60 shells pr. minute.

On this site there was also several 2cm airdefence, 5cm antitank, and fixed flametrowers for close defence along with surrounding trenches.

This gun battery is one of many batterys along the coast of norway, and a part of "Festnung Norwegen".

This bunker (Hanaberget) is located just 25km north of Ogna Battery.

What you see in the front is where one of the 8,8guns was installed. It is also entrances to the tunnelsystem under the bunker where one of these tunnels lead to the commandbunker in the back.

I few years ago we found a wooden handle for a German handgrenade in this area.
