Sandane By Night, a photo from Sogn og Fjordane, South

Photographer's Note

This is the same night as the previous full moon picture. Just taken a couple of hundred meters above my parents house. It shows the town center of where I grew up and the fjord that leads in to it. The mountain at the back is called Ryssdalshorn and is a popular hike for both tourist and local inhabitants. It looks like a volcano and I've photographed it earlier were the clouds and atmospehere makes it look even more like it. That one I posted last christmas.
The atmosphere was just Like I once dreamed of for taking this picture. Because I've planned this one for ages but never got the timing so good as this one.

A very good night picture. It looks much better when seen at the full size as when seen only in the thumbnail version.
The orange/green colours of the city lights are very nice, and we can see where the city ends and the mountains start.
I would guess that the blue colour of the lower sky does not comes from the moon, but I can not tell it because the information from your camera does not states how long the exposure time was. But the white snow atop the mountains does come from the light shown by the moon.

This is a really great photo, nighttime is a great time and you sure show that through this photo.
Like I told you, maybe a little lack of focus...but you already knew that.
I especially like the abient light created in the background by the moon.
